I was completely surprised to find 2 Gyrfalcons on Sunday a first for the Valley.

American Wigeons an
d Mallard Ducks they always hang out together.

It`s always a treat when i am lucky enough to find Ring Necked Pheasants.
Last year at this time this irrigation line would have been covered with Eagles.
Always nice to see the Golden Crowned Sparrows although this is the first time that i have seen a male with the black mask.
I believe these are Semipalmated Sandpipers.

I went to Boundary Bay to see if the Bald Eagles had returned to this area . They nest here and usually they come back around the beginning of December. While there were more here than my last time here their numbers are still low.

Unlike last winter when i had 5 Anna`s Hummingbirds at my feeder i only have this one at my feeder this winter.
At Harrison Lake i found this American Dipper looking for water bugs.
The Bald Eagles are still finding some dead Salmon to feed on.

Some shots of the Peregrines in flight.
The big surprise today was finding the Pair of Peregrine Falcons because they don`t usually return until the end of December.
This morning i drove into the Valley looking for 3 Raptors that are hard to find because there is only one of them. The first was the Male Northern Harrier which i haven`t sen in 2 months, the other was the Gyrfalcon last winter i only got a short glimpse of two of them. I found her today .
