Today was the annual Bald Eagle Festival. Last year they counted over 900 Bald Eagles.

Every year we anxiously wait for this time of year to see if the Gyrfalcon will return. She cane back this week from her summer range in the Rocky Mountains . As per the last few years she came with her juvenile .

Northern Pintail Ducks.


One of the more colourful birds at my feeder is the Spotted Towhee.


At my Feeder, these House Sparrows are fun to watch. They can sit quietly and eat but when there are more birds than available feeding ports all hell breaks out.

An Immature Bald Eagle.


A Cormorant with a fish.


A small group of Surf Scoters. they are fun to watch as they dive as a group chasing fish.



Northern Pintails & American Wigeons were also there in large numbers.




After waiting for a year the Snow Geese have returned.

At Boundary Bay there was the largest flock of American Wigeon.



One of the rarest Hawks in the Fraser Valley is the Rough-legged Hawk. This only the 4th one that i have seen since 2013.
